ACUPUNCTURE
Acupuncture
is a minimally invasive and essentially painless technique utilizing
extremely fine disposable needles inserted into specific points along
the energy channels of the body. This
manipulates the body’s vital energy called (“Qi”), thus removing
any blockages and restoring balance.
It is a natural method without the side effects of medications.
Scientific explanations include the release of endorphins and
altering the pain pathways to achieve beneficial results.

Acupuncture can be used with dietary and lifestyle changes. It is sometimes used with Moxibustion. Moxibustion is a process of applying an herb (usually
Artemisia vulgaris also called Mugwort) to an Acupuncture Point to create
heat. It can be placed as a
cone over a needle or as a cigar shaped moxa stick that the therapist
holds directly above the Acupuncture point.
Moxa can be applied on top of ginger slices to protect the skin.
This treatment is very successful for sensitivity to cold or cold
conditions.
